Going for a ride

I'm going for a ride on my bicycle.

  1. Just found your blog from Stacia at midlifeswimmer.blogspot.com! You and I might be similar in some ways. I'll look forward to following along and seeing your progress.

I'm into cycling too. What kind of bike do you have?

  2. Hi Clyde,
Awesome, I checked out your blog too and added it to my blogroll. Yes it seems we have somethings in common :)

I just recantly started cycling. I bought my bike like 7 years ago but never really came around. It's a "cyclepro" mtb. I don't know much about bikes but I think it's a pretty decent cycle for beginners. It costed about 700 us dollars when I bought it. I'll reward myself with a new bike when I reach 300 lbs :)

  3. That's exactly how I started one year ago. I had a mtb (cost about the same) and traded it in after about 5 months of steady riding. But I didn't lose weight then, because I was eating poorly. I started losing in March, when I changed my diet.

You have already lost a lot. Any advice?

    Also, what is your name?

  4. My name is Patrick. What kind of bike do you use? I don't know what bike to buy next, any advice?

About my weight loss, I've tried different crazy diets over the years without any lasting results but this time I just quit eating fast food and no snacks or candy. I drink a lot of water and some diet coke. I eat lots of vegstebles and fruit. I even do a lot of barbeque stuff, american style with hickory wood chips. Like a steak with loads of salad. So I love barbeque.

  5. I ride a Scott Sportster. It is called a hybrid or commuter...becoming more popular in the U.S. now. Are they popular where you live? (Where do you live?). I like it because it has thinner wheels and is lighter than a mtb, but can handle my weight and is more comfortable than the bent-over riding style of a road bike.
I can also take it on non-paved paths, like the one in your picture.

My weight loss strategy seems the same as yours. I tried the crazy diets, but finally somehow convinced myself to stop eating fast food and candy. I count calories everyday (and log them into Sparkpeople.com) and stay at about 1700.

  6. Yes Scott are quite popular over here too (Sweden). Don't know what models but I'm sure it's about the same as you have. I'll keep Scott in mind when it's time for a new bike. Durability is important when you weigh some. I'm affraid of going to fast on my bike cause I think it will break in half haha.
